PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa said he is not going anywhere.

He said he'll continue to be president for the next five years.

He said this on Saturday, 20 April during a speech to party members in KwaXimba outside Durban CBD, KZN.

Ramaphosa took his election campaign to KZN this weekend.

His journey began in the eThekwini region where he visited Inkosi Simingaye Mlaba to lay a wreath at the gravesite of Inkosi uMsinga Mlaba and Inkosi Manzolwandle kaBhekamantshe Mlaba in KwaXimba.

He then moved on to Enkonzweni yamabandla where he addressed a number of party members and the community.

He said he was fully aware that people across the country were struggling with problems such as electricity and water. But as a ruling party, they are working tirelessly to find solutions to these burning issues.

“I hear people claim that the government is not doing anything to change people’s lives. This is not true because I have heard stories of R350 grant recipients who have started businesses with the grant and changed their lives for the better,” he said.

He said they are currently busy installing generators in different parts of Mzansi to address the electricity crisis.

Ramaphosa added that they are also addressing the water crisis as they have started many water projects across the country.

“When I arrived in KZN, I visited some people including a senior citizen and I commended the current government for honouring its promises. She told me that all her children have degrees because they were funded by NSFAS and he will continue to support the ruling party,” he said.

Ramaphosa said he doesn’t care what other people said, but the ANC government had improved lives and continued to do so.

“It is very unfortunate that those who want to get rid of me will not see that. I am not going anywhere, and I will continue to be their president for the next five years,” Ramaphosa said.

Ramaphosa's journey continued on Sunday, 21 April to meet with his supporters in KwaNgcolosi, Hammarsdale and KwaMashu and to end the day with a dinner with the Muslim community in Durban.
