SMART Car Wash is the talk of the kasi.
The car wash business located on the roadside in Cottondale in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, offers services like cleaning engines, vacuuming, polishing tyres and washing cars with spray guns.
The fast-growing business was founded in 2017 by Consol Sithole (44).
He told Daily Sun their clients were locals, taxis and tourists travelling to the Manyeleti Game Reserve and the Kruger National Park.

“Our prices are reasonable. We charge between R60 and R70 for taxis, bakkies, sedans and SUVs. In a week, we wash up to 200 cars,” he said. Consol said he employed seven people and most of them were orphans or had single parents.
“We have three ladies working in the restaurant and they are responsible mothers from disadvantaged backgrounds,” he said.
Business supervisor Reason Moloto (24) said the relationship between Consol and his clients was very special.
“We’re united and friendly. Customers can leave their cars and when they come back, everything will be fine. Once a customer forgot a wallet in his car with R18 000 in cash. We returned it and he was very happy,” he said.
Polosha “Shortie” Khoza (25) said he was very lucky to work at the car wash.
“I can look after my mum and three siblings with my salary and I am saving to pay lobola for my partner,” he said.
Happy customer Amu Baloyi said: “I wash my VW Polo here every time I come home from Joburg where I work as a lecturer at the University of Joburg.
“Honestly, these guys know their job and I am encouraging others to come and support them.”

Ezrom Madalane said the car wash was the best in the area.
“We can even buy soft drinks at the restaurant while relaxing here,” he said.
