Legendary musician Sipho Makhabane said being hijacked was the most terrible moment of his life.

LEGENDARY gospel star Big Fish has forgiven the thugs who robbed him at gunpoint.

The legendary gospel singer told Daily Sun he was also praying for the robbers to repent.

Big Fish, whose real name is Sipho Makhabane, said he wants thugs to stop robbing people and become preachers of the word of God.

"One day, I want to see them become pastors who pray for people to get salvation," he said.

Big Fish was hijacked and kidnapped by about seven thugs at gunpoint in Booysen, south of Joburg, on 19 February 2024.

He said the hijackers, who had blue lights on their car, stole his white Toyota Hilux GD6 single cab and his cellphones, bank cards, about R2 000, before they withdrew over R50 000 from his bank accounts.

"Crime in South Africa is bad. It's like load shedding," he said.

The Devil is a Liar hitmaker said for all the bad incidents that have happened to him in the past, he thanks God for protecting him.

"The four thugs, who were with me at the back of the car, carried a small gun they used to press me to the floor of the car and threw newspapers on top of me. They ordered me to close my eyes and not look at them," he said.

He said his right eye was so painful as if something like chili was put on it.

He said the eye has since healed.

"That was the most terrible moment of my life. It was also the first time I was hijacked," he said.

He appealed to motorists not to put their bank cards in their pockets but rather leave them at home and only carry cash to be used.

Meanwhile, in 2016, Big Fish was robbed twice of his belongings at his Kensington offices in Joburg.

In December 2014, he survived a car crash on his way to Delmas in Mpumalanga.

He said on Saturday, 20 April, he will be part of his son, Takie Ndou's live recording of his show called Glory at Carnival City, in Ekurhuleni.

Big Fish said on 18 May they'll be doing a fundraiser concert at Carnival City to help rebuild the Katlehong branch of the Assembly of God Church that burnt down in May 2022.

He said he's busy with another project that will be released in September this year.
