The new Audi A5 cabriolet has now been introduced to South Africa.

IS IT winter? The season is mild this year which means that perhaps some topless fun is good all year round!

To show you what’s available, here’s the new Audi A5 and S5 cabriolet, which have just been launched in Mzansi.

They join the A5 Coupé and Sportback models and feature classy design and Audi’s top-notch craftsmanship.

With a length of 4,6m, the new A5 Cabriolet is 47mm longer than its predecessor, and has had its wheelbase extended by 14mm. The soft-top roof can open in 15 seconds or close in 18 seconds at speeds no faster than 50km/h.

The engine lineup initially has two units – a 2,0 TFSI with 140kW on tap and a 2,0T FSI with 185kW.

The former engine option is only offered in front-wheel drive and the other with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive. Both engines however will be offered in either the Base or Sport trim options. There is also a third 2,0 TDI engine, but it will only join the line-up later this year.

The S5 Cabriolet comes with a turbocharged 3,0-litre six-cylinder – more powerful than the older version.

It moves from zero to 100km/h in 5,1 seconds with a top speed that is limited to 250km/h.

An updated five-link suspension is used on the front axle and at the rear, a five-link construction replaces the angled-link suspension used previously.

Prices range from R689 000 to more than R1 million for the range-topping S5 model.
