The facelifted Renault Clio is now on sale in South Africa with an updated design and a more sophisticated interior.
Like before, the Clio range is available in three trim levels: Authentique, Expression and Dynamique – all of them powered by Renault’s efficient 0,9-litre three-cylinder engine with a claimed average fuel consumption of 5,5 litres every 100km.
The automatic Expression is powered by a 1,2-litre turbopetrol engine that uses 5,2 litres of fuel every 100km.
Design changes are few but they give the car a more modern appearance. Renault has altered the Clio’s front bumper and upper grille, while the lower grid is now wider.
At the back the Clio’s rear skirt has also been restyled. The range-topping Dynamique comes with full-LED lighting as well as LED Pure Vision headlights. These lights are complemented with C-shaped LED daytime running lights. The rear tail lights also have the signature C-shape LEDs.
New to the entry-level Authentique model is Renault’s R&Go system, which connects the vehicle’s radio to your smartphone using Bluetooth.
The R&Go App offers four areas of functionality including radio, smartphone and USB music, identify radio songs, use the phone, vehicle and trip information, and navigation.
Renault is selling the Clio with a five-year/150 000km mechanical warranty, a three-year/45 000km service plan and a six-year anti-corrosion warranty.
