The Tata Evolve limited edition is in South Africa!
Tata based the Evolve on the Xenon XT bakkie, which has been
popular with buyers looking for a double cab pick-up at a good price.
When this model was introduced earlier this year, it was offered
only in white but now Tata has added black as a limited exterior colour.
The Evolve has a significantly different exterior and interior
appearance to make it look different from the other versions in the Xenon XT
range. The Evolve is offered as a 4x2-drive model with a price tag of R269 995.
A 4x4 model is also available but only by special order.
Evolve has had a number of important features added to the
exterior, including a roll-over bar behind the cab, side steps, a front nudge
bar and a tow bar as well as unique badging and a special decal package.
The alloy wheels have been revised as another extra feature.
On the inside, there are leather seats, while the Evolve logo also
appears on the interior floor mats.
Like other models in the Xenon range, the Evolve has a
comprehensive range of safety features, which include ABS brakes and dual-front
airbags.
For driving convenience, there is GPS navigation and a Bluetooth
connection.
Other equipment that comes standard is the electric windows, power
steering, a sound system with an MP3 player and a level-adjustable steering
column.
The Evolve is powered by Tata’s 2,2-litre turbodiesel.
The engine’s power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed
manual gearbox. The set-up will be modified for the four-wheel drive options to
make it capable of harsh off-road driving.
