THE FACTS
SOON after Denzil Laurie’s bank card was swallowed by an ATM, unauthorised transactions were made with it. His card was used to make R12 823,49 worth of purchases at various retail shops.
He reported the matter to the bank and was asked to complete a form. However, he still hasn’t received any feedback since June this year. Denzil came to the SunDefender, asking for help.
WHAT I DID
I spoke to Scorpion Legal Protection and they promised to investigate.
SOLUTION
The bank told Denzil that they would not refund him because the pin number was used for the transactions. Scorpion is helping Denzil to take the matter to the banking ombudsman, as he not happy with the bank’s decision. Scorpion will inform Denzil about the ombudsman’s decision in due course.
