SUPERSPORT United CEO Stan Matthews says he is willing to sell Dove Wome to Orlando Pirates.
The Togolese footballer joined Pirates during the January transfer window on a six-month loan deal from Matsatsantsa a Pitori.
It now seems the 26-year-old has no place in the Nedbank Cup champions’ team, which is why the United boss said they were willing to let the striker go.
Said Matthews: “We were able to loan him out, so I don’t see why we can’t sell him. We are willing to listen to offers. If Pirates want him on a permanent basis we will sell him to them.”
The midfielder was introduced to Absa Premiership football by Free State Stars back in 2011. He played 55 matches and scored 10 goals for them before joining big spenders Mamelodi Sundowns in 2013.
He continued with his good form at Sundowns before jumping ship to join neighbours SuperSport United in 2014. At Downs he played 18 games, scoring five times.
Despite making his presence felt at United, it was not enough to impress coach Stuart Baxter, who eventually loaned him out after he had made 51 appearances for them, scoring 10 times.
Should the Togolese international succeed with a permanent switch to the Parktown outfit he will team up with the club’s new recruit, Thamsanqa Sangweni, in midfield.
Sangweni, previously with Chippa United was unveiled by club boss Irvin Khoza on Monday.
United’s Matthews also revealed that they were waiting on their new head coach Eric Tinkler to decide which players he wants to sign.
United are still involved in the Caf Confederation Cup and have yet to take a break after winning the Nedbank Cup two weeks ago.
Their next match is at home against CF Mounana of Gabon on Saturday (3.30pm) following their 0-0 draw away to Horoya of Guinea last Saturday.
