SUPERSPORT UNITED midfielder, Aubrey Modiba, reckons working under shrewd tactician, Stuart Baxter, could help him achieve his dream of lifting his first silverware in the top flight.
The 21-year-old reigning PSL Young Player of the Season is optimistic SuperSport are capable of winning the league title or Nedbank Cup.
The versatile player has been a regular for the Tshwane side as he can play as a defender and midfielder.
Baxter has used him as a left-back when Onismor Bhasera was out on suspension. He also gels well with Thuso Phala, Jeremy Brockie and Reneilwe Letsholonyane when they attack.
Said Modiba: “I’m blessed to be working under a good coach like Baxter. I see my dream of lifting a trophy this season becoming a reality if I continue to work hard.”
But he insisted he won’t put pressure on himself.
“The idea is to take each game as it comes because the pressure at SuperSport is huge and we know what’s expected from us,” he said.
“As much as I’m eyeing my first title, it’s also important that I work with the team to achieve what’s mandated to us.”
SuperSport are at the top of the Absa Premiership. They resume their season with a date against Golden Arrows at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on 8 February.
