SIBUSISO Dlamini’s 52nd minute goal against Torino FC, gave Bidvest Wits’ Young Students a measure of hope as they played to a 1-1 draw with the reigning Future Champions International Tournament cup-holders at Pimville’s Nike Centre yesterday.

Dlamini cancelled out Agostino Rizzo 30th minute goal in a close battle between the two sides, with the visitors taking their lead into half-time.

The Italians launched a renewed attack in the second half in search of another goal, but Wits goalie Daniel Meyer stood firm between the sticks.

Wits captain Givemore Khupe played an important role in encouraging his team while they were still 1-0 down. After the game, Khupe said he was happy with the result: “This was a tough game for us. We lost concentration in the final minutes of the first half and they punished us. We expected them to give us tough time.”

  • In the other match, Atletico Madrid beat Clube Ferroviario Maputo 3-0 thanks to goals from Andy (brace) and Oscar.

Entrance to the matches is FREE.

  • Matches are broadcast live on SuperSport TV and interviews on Eldos FM.
