The drama we are going through is not fuelled by the words or actions of others.
There more you think about something, the more power you give it.
Why do we get so easily stressed by petty things?
Is it because the world isn’t the predictable, orderly, blissful place we’d like it to be?
We want things to be easy, comfortable and well ordered.
Unfortunately work is hectic, relationships are challenging and many people demand our time.
We are not always as prepared as we’d like to be, our families frustrate us and there’s just too much to do, learn and process in our minds.
So we get stressed and drama follows.
The problem isn’t the world or other people’s thoughts and behaviour – these aspects of life will always be uncontrollable.
The problem is that we’re holding on too tightly to ideals that don’t match reality.
We have subconsciously set high expectations for ourselves, others and even our relationships.
Our attachment to our ideals stirs anxiety in our minds. It also brings stress into our lives.
We must accept things as they are to avoid drama.
