MZANSI has been buzzing after it was revealed that the winner of the R87 million PowerBall jackpot had not claimed the big prize.

But now the winner has come forward to claim the mountain of cash!

Ithuba’s Zukisa Nomnganga confirmed that the winner came forward on Tuesday evening at their Polokwane offices after buying the winning ticket at Global Filling Station in Mokopane, Limpopo.

Garage owner John Mphosi said they had to deal with a stream of phone calls and visits from people thinking they were the winners.

Said Nomnganga: “It was the biggest PowerBall jackpot since Ithuba took over running the Lottery.”

The operator could not disclose details about the winner until they had met and made validations.

Arrangements have been made by Ithuba to meet the winner at its Joburg offices.

Group CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: “We wish our winners all the best and hope that they spend their money wisely.”
