Thumekile Sithole says the man and his mum watched as she was attacked by the animals.

WHEN Thumekile Sithole (31) arrived at the farmer’s gate to clean the house, she saw the man’s vicious dogs, all locked up.

Then the farmer asked her to go inside as he wanted to let the dogs outside.

But when Thumekile was later called outside, the farmer allegedly set his dogs on Thumekile.

Now her whole body is covered in wounds after the two dogs attacked her.

Thumekile said the farmer came to her house last Tuesday, asking her to come clean his house.

When she got to his house the dogs were locked up. Then her boss asked her to move out of the yard because he wanted to give the dogs food.

Then, a while later, the farmer called her back to the yard. “I saw the two big dogs and a small one running towards me,” she said.

“I tried to run away but I fell.

“The dogs attacked, but the man just stood outside the house with his mum and watched.”

Cosatu’s provincial leadership led by its secretary, Edwin Mkhize visited the woman at Escourt Provincial Hospital on Saturday.

“We are calling for tough action against the farmer and his mum if found guilty,” said Mkhize.

Lieutenant Nqobile Gwala said a case of failing to prevent an animal to cause an injury to another person was opened.

No arrest has been made.
