THE People’s Paper has come to the rescue once again!
This time, it helped Lesiba Mafalo from Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, to get his stolen car back.
Lesiba went to a club in Midrand with an old friend and another man two weeks ago.
At the club, his friend’s companion asked for his car keys so he could go and put his jacket in the car as he claimed he was feeling hot.
“I was worried when hours passed and there was no sign of him. So I went to look for him and found my car was gone,” said Lesiba.
He opened a case of motor vehicle theft.
Daily Sun published Lesiba’s story last Friday.
A SunReader noticed the car in his neighbourhood and quickly called the police.
SAPS spokesman Aubrey Moopeloa said: “We received a tip-off from a woman who told us she had seen the same car in Welkom.
“We applaud the quick response of police officials, who held a roadblock on the R730 Virginia route, where the car was found,” said Moopeloa.
He said the suspect was arrested and is being held at Thabong Police Station.
Lesiba said: “I am really grateful to Daily Sun for finding my beloved car. I thought I would never see it again.
“The response was quick and overwhelming.
“I am so grateful,” he said.
