SANGOMA Tshediso Mosese (31) can’t understand why his neighbour is complaining.
But the neighbour said the thump, thump, thump, as he crushes muthi in a metal pot day and night is driving him crazy and is going to kill his gogo.
Tshediso from Swaneville, Kagiso said his neighbour is threatening to burn him in his house if he doesn’t stop. It is so serious he has even applied for a protection order.
“My neighbour tells me my pot is too loud and it makes his gogo sick. His gogo has been sick for a long time. I’m not the reason she’s not feeling well,” he said.
Tshediso said he is the only one who is against his business. “I don’t know what he wants from me. He’s just jealous because I’m making money,” said the sangoma.
The sangoma uses a metal bar to crush muthi in his yard. “It is not something that I do every hour and I don’t see why it would cause a fight. He came into the house threatening to beat me and burn me in the house if I don’t stop. This is my livelihood and there’s no way I can’t stop this.
“Where must I crush muthi if not in my house?” he asked.
“During the day I’m not here and I leave my mother by herself. What if he carries out his evil plans?”
Neighbour Nkosana Mtambo (27) told Daily Sun the crushing is too loud and Tshediso must stop. “My gogo is sick and every time the banging starts she gets worse. He starts as early as 4.30am and it disturbs our sleep. I wish he would come to his senses and stop because it’s wrong. It’s driving my gogo and I crazy.”
