INYANGA SAVES ALBINOS!

accreditation

A TRADITIONAL healer trapped a woman who tried to sell him three albino children for R100 000 each.

The inyanga set up an appointment with the woman at her home. He then arrived with four cops who were not in uniform on Friday.

The inyanga told the woman the four men were his sons. Now the 28-year-old from Ngosini in Manguzi, northern KZN who thought was going to pocket R300 000 is behind bars!

She appeared in the Ubombo Magistrates Court on Monday on charges of human trafficking. The case was postponed to Tuesday for a bail application.

Maxwell Thabethe, KZN chairman of the Albinism Society of South Africa, said:

“It was really heartwarming to see inyangas working with the cops, proving they are not involved in the disappearance of albinos.”

A source told Daily Sun the police were notified after the suspect told a local inyanga she was selling three albino children. As he had heard many stories of albinos going missing in neighbouring areas the inyanga pretended to be interested but secretly approached the police.

The source said: “The inyanga asked to meet at the woman’s home to talk more. He arrived there with cops not wearing their uniforms. He told the woman they were his sons and she could talk freely in their presence.” The source said the cops and the inyanga asked her to have the kids ready on Friday as they would pay cash and collect them.

“When they arrived she had the three kids and she was arrested,” said the source. The kids, aged between 10 and 12 years old, are girls. Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane confirmed the incident. He said the cops were still looking for four-year-old Maneliswa Ntombela from Mkhobose Village in Empangeni, who went missing three weeks ago.
