A 46-year-old fake doctor was arrested by members of the Hawks for
practicing illegal abortions.
The Hawks, together with Health Professions Council of South Africa and Medicines Control Council, reacted after receiving information about a bogus doctor who is operating an illegal surgery in Malelane on Tuesday.
HAWKS spokesman person Captain Dineo Segotodi said the investigation revealed that the so called doctor is not registered with medical council of South Africa and he is practicing illegally using traditional medicine and abortion tablets.
When Hawks pounce on him, the fake doctor was about to perform an illegal abortion on a client who had paid him R700.
The suspects will appear soon before the Malelane Magistrate’s Court soon.
