CECILIA Mthala was so in love with her boyfriend...But the jealous man ended up abusing her.

Cecilia (34), from Brazzaville in Atteridgeville, Tshwane said the man didn’t want to see her with other people.

Last Friday morning things turned really bad when he allegedly beat her with a steel pipe.

“He then chased me out of our house and I went to stay at a friend’s place.

“The next morning he phoned me and I thought he wanted to fix things, so I agreed to go back home,” she said.

However, she met her boyfriend on the street while she was walking home and he was still furious. He accused her of cheating on him and allegedly beat her.

“He beat me on the head and face with a steel pipe,” she said.

“He then kicked me and continued to beat me everywhere.”

Cecilia said when people realised what was happening, her lover fled and she was taken to Kalafong Hospital.

Both her eyes were swollen and she had injuries to her head.

“I want that man to rot in jail for what he did to me,” she said.

A neighbour told Daily Sun that Cecilia told her about her life with her boyfriend, but no one realised how serious the situation was.

“I thought she was joking, but what he did to her was wrong, ” she said.

Police spokesman Captain Thomas Mufamadi said a case of assault was opened.

“The suspect is still on the run and we appeal to anyone with information to report it to the nearest police station.

“They should also call CrimeStop on 08600 10111 or SMS Crime Line on 32211.”
