WRITING MATRIC was just another step in Blossom’s march to success.
The gogo concentrated, studied and confidently wrote her exams.
AND AT 66 SHE FINALLY GOT HER MATRIC!
Daily Sun introduced SunReaders to the fighting spirit of gogo Blossom Msibi in October last year when she was studying towards a school-leaving qualification at Fezisifiso Adult Centre.
After 51 years, she had gone back to school and she wasn’t scared of the approaching exams at all.
She said she wanted to start a creche and she needs a matric certificate to do that.
She explained that after many years of sitting at home she came to realise that education was the key to success.
Now, gogo Blossom has bloomed into a top student and her dream of owning a creche is one step closer.
She passed all her subjects with flying colours.
“I expected to pass but I didn’t think it would go so well,” she said.
“I’m glad that when I thought of going back to school I didn’t hesitate. Look at me now. I will soon have my own creche!”
She achieved 79% in maths and science, and an average of 69% for her other subjects.
“Studying was easy,” said the gogo.
“Every night before going to bed I would go through everything the teacher taught us the day before. I concentrated and kept my focus on my dream.”
The matric class of 2016 can take a leaf from gogo Blossom’s book.
Her marks impressed even her teachers, who have applied for funds for her creche from the department of education on her behalf.
