FOR this thief, it wasn’t a lucky day.
As he came out of the house in Brixton, Joburg yesterday with the stolen goods already in his bag, he found himself face to face with
Muhammed Salah (56), the owner of the house.
Who knows what would have happened to the thief if he had been caught eKasi? However, the thug found himself tied to an electric pole with petrol poured over him while the sun blazed down on him.
The thief screamed with fear.
“Please don’t burn me, uncle. Please!” he cried.
He asked Muhammed what he was going to do.
“God will decide,” he said.
He said if God wanted him burnt, the sun would set the petrol on fire.
When Daily Sun left, the young man had not yet been burnt.
Residents in the area said the young man, who allegedly comes from Mayfair, has been troubling them by breaking into their homes and stealing their belongings.
“We have caught him three times and warned him, but he keeps coming back,” said Cynthia Ngwane (35).
According to sources, the thief didn’t burn. He was released by the community with the threat that he would be beaten to death if he was caught stealing again.
