TEARS flowed at the funeral service of murdered Rhythm City actor, loving husband and family man Dumisani Masilela on Saturday.
His widow, Simphiwe Ngema, dressed all in white, moved mourners with her tribute to Dumisani at the Hope Restoration Ministries near Tembisa in Ekurhuleni.
Simphiwe said her husband was a loving man with many talents.
“No matter how busy he would be, he would always make time for me and his family.”
She said she was lucky to have experienced the kind of love that many people longed for.
“One of Dumi’s talents was loving me effortlessly and truly.”
Simphiwe said Dumisani showed incredible strength when he was rushed to hospital, and she felt as if he had given her all his strength.
The late actor’s coffin was covered with a South African flag.
Ekurhuleni Metro cops stood side-by-side at the coffin until the service was over. The funeral was also attended by Ekurhuleni’s mayor, Mzwandile Masina, and other politicians.
Masina told mourners that the suspects behind Dumisani’s killing had been arrested.
His announcement that a new theatre in Ekurhuleni would be named after Dumisani was met with applause and cheers.
Dumisani was shot during an attempted hijacking in Tembisa last week, and he later died in hospital.
He was buried at the Zuurfontein Cemetery.
