The two men who forced Victor Mlotshwa into a coffin and threatened to pour petrol on him and shoot him if he ran away, have been denied bail in the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court.

The accused, Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen, reapplied for bail in the Middelburg Magistrates Court on Friday. The hearing continued today and they were denied bail.

Magistrate Dumehleli said the likelihood of bloodshed is clear if the applicants are released on bail. Went on to further say that it has been shown that it won't be in the interests of justice for the men to get bail. The magistrate indicated that he would like DNA tests to be run on the coffin, to ascertain whether or not anyone else was in it.
