THERE is a strong police presence at Hoërskool Overvaal following the chaotic protests on Wednesday morning.
On Thursday, schooling resumed, however EFF and ANC supporters were outside Hoërskool Overvaal continuing with the protest and burning tyres in front of the school gate.
As the EFF and ANC supporters were busy burning rubbish and tyres, parents who were carrying baseball bats clashed with the protestors.
Tensions ran high on Wednesday, as the EFF came in their numbers to protest outside the school demanding that over 55 English speaking learners be admitted to the school.
The Gauteng education department, tried to force the Afrikaans medium school to admit more pupils at the school.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria set aside the decision by the Gauteng Department of Education to admit the 55 learners.
The school’s governing body brought an urgent application before the court in a bid to overturn Lesufi's decision.
