COPS and paramedics were greeted by a bloody scene on Wednesday.

This was after a truck that allegedly failed to stop at a red robot crashed into an Isuzu bakkie carrying four men at the back.

It happened on Oliver Tambo Street in the Bloemfontein CBD.

When Daily Sun arrived at the scene, the bodies of the victims were lying on the road.

One of the victim’s head was crushed and his brains were scattered on the road.

A police source said the truck was heading to town from the university when the driver allegedly failed to stop at the red robot.

“The bakkie was driven by a woman with another woman pasenger in the vehicle.

“They had just fetched a seven-year-old boy from school,” said the police source.

“She gave four men a lift and they all jumped in the back.

“After a few minutes the truck crashed into the bakkie, killing three of the men.”

Police spokesman Constable Peter Kareli confirmed the incident.

“The other man and the two women, as well as the boy, were injured.

“The victims were rushed to hospital.

“The truck driver was not injured. Mangaung police opened a case of culpable homicide.”
