THE SELF-PROCLAIMED King of Punani was moered at his own birthday bash!
This happened in the wee hours of last Sunday morning at Sappers Rus Heritage Centre in Hartbeespoort, in North West.
Sunday Sun witnessed the incident where “King P”, real name Daniel Mahlaule, was grabbed by his tie and thrown on the floor by DJ Mlungisi Magubane and his friends.
What started out as a jolly party graced by sexy women and flashy cars, ended in chaos when King P ambushed DJ Mlungisi and wanted to spin some discs.
He went to the DJ box and told DJ Mlungisi, who was hired to perform, he wanted to play Shangaan music – and then the shit hit the fan!
“King P told DJ Mlungisi he was playing kak music.
“He said he wanted to play his own Shangaan music.
“But DJ Mlungisi told him he wasn’t going to play such music as revellers were dancing to house and hip hop music.
“King P got angry and messed up the music system. He started arguing with DJ Mlungisi,” an eyewitness said.
Another witness said when the DJ’s friends realised he was being threatened by King P, they jumped to his rescue.
“Those guys realised King P was a big guy and was going to panel beat their friend.
“So they got to the DJ box and wrestled with King P. They strangled him with his tie and threw him down.
“They also kicked him. Then King P’s friends also joined in and moered DJ Mlungisi and his gang.
“King P started insulting the DJ and his friends. It was chaos, but things returned to normal when the women who came to the party told them to stop,” said the witness.
At the venue, King P said there was a misunderstanding: “Please don’t write it. You’re talking rubbish.”
Event organiser, Moss Makuru, said: “King P came to me and asked for the microphone. I showed him how it works. Then chaos broke out.
“DJ Mlungisi told me King P went there and switched off the sound. I apologised to him for what happened.”
Moss said DJ Mlungisi lost his phone at the party and couldn’t be reached.
