Looking back 10 years ago, it would’ve been hard to predict the rise of urban music in the form of hip hop and its influence on youth culture.
One of the pioneers of this industry has been none other than Khuli Chana.
2017 and the One Source EP brings you “ALL HAIL”, a collaboration for the history books by two small town rappers turned Kings of South African Hip Hop.
Khuli Chana features Cassper Nyovest in what one would sum up as an assertive king’s speech, from the Iron Throne.
The single will form part of the One Source EP, his first album in 3 years. The track “ALL HAIL” follows the highly successful, Metro nominated single “One Source”.
This powerful industry collaboration will no doubt boost the success of the One Source EP further. The single also features the North-West's finest Maglera Doe Boy.
MDB finds himself honing his skills with the best of them and, at his age, his future is bright.
His all chest-beating triumphalism, showcases a headstrong strain of South African Hip Hop.
The incredible visuals that support “ALL HAIL”, were shot by super director Kyle Lewis who had this to say: “The style of this piece says a lot about the effects war and violence has on the world and how young men in the modern world are still effected by wars.
This tone and look came to me immediately after listening to the song for the first time.
The song spoke to me in a real way and inspired me to create something original meshing old with new.
Khuli has really changed the game with his music lately, connecting countries with the universal language of music.
I wanted to honor this incredible movement he’s started with beautiful original and striking visuals. It is very rare to be so inspired by music and that is truly special and I count myself lucky to collaborate with King Khuli!”
