“I WANT my money!”

These were the words of Lerato Manaka, who claims Shangaan disco king Penny Penny hasn’t paid her for work she did for him.

The 34-year-old brand manager from Roodepoort in Joburg told Daily Sun she began working with Penny Penny on his Mzansi Magic reality show, Papa Penny Ahee, in July.

She said although he bragged about his lavish lifestyle on air he never paid her the R205 000 he owed her.

The mum of three said: “The agreement between Papa Penny and me was that I was going to get 20% of endorsements. I made Papa Penny into what he is today. I made sure I got him sponsors for his show.

“I went as far as neglecting my husband and kids to make sure the show was the best.”

Lerato said what hurt her the most was that, in January, Penny Penny began blocking her on WhatsApp.

“My lawyers advised me to go to DStv to stop the show.

“Penny Penny even sent me a threatening text and he’s bullied me,” she said.

“I have tried to reason with him. I worked long hours for him.

“The last episode is next week and I will fight him to stop season two from being shot.

I want my money.”

When the SunTeam phoned Penny Penny he denied owing Lerato money.

“I didn’t sign any contract with her. How can I sign a contract when I don’t know English?

This woman is trying to scam me because she knows I don’t know anything.

“She is mafia who wanted me to scam my people in Giyani and sell tenders.

“My contract is with my recording company and not with her.”

However, Daily Sun has the contract Penny Penny denied signing.
