Following the devastating storms that left many people stranded in KwaZulu-Natal last week, award-winning, Afro-Soul singer and songwriter Berita has partnered with the Almal Foundation to help raise funds, non-perishable goods, warm clothes and hygiene products for the victims affected by the #KZNStorms.
The concert will take place today at the Newtown Junction Mall in Johannesburg from 12pm till 6pm and is free to enter.
Berita will headline the benefit concert and will be joined by the country’s finest DJs and live performers which include the likes of Kwesta, Tresor, Mobi Dixon and Brenda Mtambo with a special appearance by the legendary Princess of Africa, Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
“I was really saddened by the KZN storms that happened last week. My thoughts are with families and students writing Matric that are the most affected at this time. My hopes are that through this Benefit Concert as a community we may come together in music and pledge what we have to support one another,” shares Berita.
The benefit concert is brought to you by Berita in association with the Newtown Junction Mall, the Princess of Africa Foundation, the Almal Foundation and Vth Season.
Berita has also expressed her thanks to Music factory, Gear house, SA roadies, Black Motion on stage and production.
The singer has promised nothing but the best entertainment.
All proceeds from the event will go to the families most affected by the #KZNStorms in Umlazi and Malukazi.
People are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable foods, hygiene products, blankets and clothes to be collected by Almal foundation.
