Aus Tebza is a musical force to be reckoned with.
Born Tebogo Sedumedi in Mahikeng, North West, the singer and bass guitarist has released a new single titled Aye, which she says came to her in a dream.
“I dreamt of the chorus and bassline two years ago.
“I tried to ignore it but it kept coming back to me.
“The lyrics didn’t make sense to me at the time, but I decided to work on the song late last year.”
Aus Tebza said Aye is a love song.
“There can never be enough love songs in the world. Everybody needs love.
“I wrote the lyrics in different languages, even though my mother tongue is Setswana.
“I believe it’s a song that all kinds of people can listen to and share.
Aus Tebza launched her career in 2005 as a bass guitarist with the likes of HHP, Swazi Dlamini, Kelly Khumalo and Wanda Baloyi.
She surprised her fans with the release of her debut album Make A Difference last year.
Apart from singing on the album, she composed, produced and wrote all the songs.
“Being an independent artist has given me the freedom to do as I please.”
She added that she hopes her album reaches as many people as possible.
“I am not motivated by the desire for fame.
“My goal is to make music which has a positive impact.”
