An American accessories store called Vianel has threatened to take legal action against DJ Bongz for his gwara gwara cap design.
Yesterday social media went crazy when the DJ posted a picture of his cap and said it was selling for R800. People slammed him and his cap asking why it would cost so much for a cap.
But that wasn't the end of Bongz's troubles as the American company responded to one of his tweet telling him to stop using their images on his merchandise.
Vianel responded with:
@vianelnewyork: @Dj_Bongz Please stop using our images to promote your product. This image is copyrighted and belongs to VIANEL only.
@vianelnewyork: @ThandoPeaches we own the image of the hat. He edited our image and added the cartoon.
@vianelnewyork: @ThembeniLucia @Dj_Bongz this is our only form of communication as he has not replied to any of our other inquiries about this
@vianelnewyork: @BigboyType @Dj_Bongz We will take legal action in 24 hours if the images are still on your twitter.
But Bongz says the Americans just want attention.
@Dj_Bongz: Bathi they want royalties ??????????????????????????????????
@Dj_Bongz: ???????? they think this is a joke! #GwaragwaraSeason is the biggest brand in SA right now!!! Everyone wants a piece of it now??????????
@Dj_Bongz: Allow them to waste their time! They just want media attention. Agikho into engingayikhuluma nomuntu ongayazi iGwaragwara???????? @PulyBeast
And people had their own opinions to share:
