TV ACTRESS and singer, Relebogile Mabotja celebrated her 31st birthday in hospital this week.

She was surrounded by family and friends, who wore surgical aprons and gloves as they wished her a happy birthday and speedy recovery. Relebogile was recently appointed as a board member of the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro), making her the organisation’s youngest board member ever.

According to a source, Relebogile developed complications after a minor operation, which sent her back to the hospital earlier this week. Close friends such as actress, Terry Pheto posted pictures online after their visit.

Relebogile’s publicist, Sheila Afari confirmed she was in hospital but said she was recovering. She said the actress would be back on her feet soon and thanked everyone for their well wishes and support.

General manager for marketing at Samro, Tiyani Maluleke said everyone at the organisation wished Relebogile a speedy recovery. “As a non-executive director she is not involved in the day to day operations of the organisation. At this stage her incapacity has no negative bearing on her contribution to the organisation,” said Tiyani.

She said Samro was looking forward to Relebogile’s recovery as "she is important to the organisation". Relebogile has worked as the host of SABC 1 competition, Dance Your Butt Off and audition selector for The Sing-Off SA. She has also acted in Zone 14 and Home Affairs.
