Hiking has become a popular outdoor activity, having people exploring the country and sharing breathtaking instagram snaps.

Whether going on a first date or an outing with a group of friends, hiking is a great activity! However, You have to ensure that your hiking trip will be safe and enjoyable, and that means choosing the safety-approved hiking trail.

The Tufa, Guinea Fowl and Leopard Trail is found in Limpopo and is one of the popular trails in the province. You are likely to bump into some friends or meet new people as you make your way through the dark jungle.

5. Tugela Falls Hike Via Sentinel Peak

Heading up the mountain of Tugela Falls Hike Via Sentinel Peak must be similar to approaching heaven. The top of the mountain looks as if you can touch the clouds. But don't let the height frighten you as the mountain consists of chain ladders you can use to assist with climbing up the mountain and returning down.

6. Storms River Mouth Rest Camp

The Storms River Mouth Rest Camp is located in the Garden Route National Park in the Eastern Cape province. From hiking trails and nature walks, there are a variety of outdoor activities you can partake in.

7. Augrabies Dasie Trail Northern Cape

The Augrabies Dasie Trail is a 5km trail in the Northern Cape province. This is one hiking trail where you can take a breather on the top of the mountain, with multiple spots where you can chill, take images and maybe have a picnic.

8. Vergenoeg Nature Reserve and Hiking Trail

The Vergenoeg Nature Reserve and Hiking Trail is within the North West province and consists of a scenic green landscaping, a plant-lover's paradise.

9. Forest Falls

For those who love large rivers and waterfalls then Forest Falls, located in the Mpumalanga province is for you. The mountains showers you with natural waters and hikers are free to dip their feet into the rivers.
