Lira’s comeback has got us all feeling good.

South Africa’s favourite songbird has had quite a whirlwind for a few years. After suffering from a stroke in 2022 that affected her speech, Lira has returned to the main stage to bless Mzansi with her signature vocals and nostalgic songs.

The award-winning singer and songwriter’s gentle voice and warm aura will be featured as the headliner for the annual Bassline Festival on 25 May 2024, after warming up with an intimate performance at her 45th birthday celebration.

Her music continues to touch the lives of South Africans countrywide, with her penultimate single Feel Good getting an amapiano remix by Prince Kaybee 15 years after the song's release.

What we can’t get enough of right now is Lira’s gorgeous ‘fro.

The Ixesha singer’s divine identity is as soft as her signature brown tresses that she so effortlessly styles in different variations.

Replying to a comment on her Instagram post, Lira explains, “My hair is natural – I don’t put relaxer on it. But [sometimes] a girl wants something different.”

From classy phondos to fun and flirty box braids, there’s inspiration for everyone who wants to switch up their look without much hard work.
