The South African Music Awards (SAMAs) returned with a bang after a two-year-long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. While many of us looked forward to seeing the performances and whether our favourite musicians would be walking away with the prestigious gong, fashion was a major highlight of the evening.
Singers, rappers and TV and radio personalities stunned on the red carpet as they strutted and showed off their looks for the evening. However, all eyes were on the show’s hosts who gave us look after look during the live broadcast of the awards ceremony.
While the eloquent Lawrence Maleka pulled his weight regarding his hosting duties as well as his ensembles, Nandi Madida’s ensembles stole the show.
Speaking to TRUELOVE in a previous interview about the fashion for the show, Nandi revealed that her looks were inspired by art and music.
“The fashion will be very artistic and will be reflective of music and iconic looks. You’ll get to see me in a way you’ve never really seen me before,” she said.

She pulled off five different looks and worked with three local designers: Keys Fashion, Juan William Aria and Suit Luxe by Xolisa.
Here's a look at all 5 of her breathtaking SAMAs looks:
A Fiery red gown
To set the tone, Nandi kicked off the show in a red Keys Fashion that was beaded and had a removable overskirt.
High split mesh dress
The second look for the evening was a sultry satin and mesh dress that had a high spit that showed off Nandi's gorgeous legs. The mesh bodice had glistening embellishments details. The dress was made by Juan William Aria.
Lilac princess gown
Nandi's third look was a whimsical lilac dress by Keys Fashion. It resembled a ball gown with dramatic off-the-shoulder sleeves.
Pink Suit
Nandi's pink suit by Suit by Luxe gave just the right amount of sexy and elegance.
Feather magic
For her last look, Nandi rocked a gorgeous black dress that had feather trimmings. This showstopper dress was also made by Keys Fashion.
