Mpumi “Msakazi” Mlambo

Born and bred in Orange Farm, Vaal… I grew up MC’ing, modelling, and commentating during sports events while in primary school. Later, when I was in high school, I broke into the media industry through a drama series called Sokhulu and Partners on SABC1. I had to pause my career at age 15 so I could finish high school. I started my media journey again at Wits University’s Voice of Wits radio station. I was the lead host for the breakfast show which won me an award at the MTN Radio Awards in 2015. That opened the door to my next career move, which was Power FM.

At Power FM, I did production for their lunch time show and picked up the skills of a content producer. I did talk radio, but I also had my own music show during the weekend. My biggest achievement at the station was being part of the Power FM #987Woman campaign where I was lined up with the likes of Thuli Madonsela and Khanyi Dhlomo. My biggest achievement for my career this year, was when I got to interview Angélique Kidjo for my show that I both produced and presented.
