Social media has been in stitches following recent events about a particular celeb dog and its owner.

Kelly Khumalo's sister and fellow singer, Zandie Khumalo-Gumede seemingly threw jabs at Advocate Zandile Mshololo after naming her “ugly” dog after the lawyer. Advocate Zandile is representing accused number five, Fisokuhle Ntuli, in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.

A play on words on Mshololo, the singer called her dog Mlosholo describing it as a dog that’s “all bark and no bite” - an idiom that means someone who talks big but doesn’t follow through with their actions.

Her social media rant comes weeks after Zandie’s cross-examination.

Taking to Instagram she captioned the post: “Hhaybo, I bought a dog today, imbi, imnyama, iyanuka ngathi ayigezi, inamehlo amakhulu futhi ayinangqondo (it's ugly, black, smells as if it doesn’t bath, it has big eyes and stupid) but in end inja inja (a dog is a dog), right? Umsebenzi wayo ukukhonkotha, igama layo uMlosholo (it's purpose is to bark and its name is Mlosholo) ... all bark and no bite but it will have to do.”

The post was later deleted.

The dog in question is black with brown spots and it’s captured while laying on grass with its tongue out. Considering the choice of name netizens insinuated that she’s referring to Advocate Zandile.

Subsequently, she said won’t apologise and will go to extreme lengths to protect her family. “[You don’t know] how it feels to be through what my family have been through, yet you all think you are entitled to tell me how to feel or how to act,” she writes on Instagram.

However, Advocate Zandile was met the slurs and some of silence. She told Ilanga that she will not lower herself to the singer's level.

“I have been representing Fisokuhle in courts, not at the joints. I will continue to do so. I represent all the big criminals. I am a defence lawyer. That’s why I asked her if she has matric. You cannot speak publicly about a case that is pending in court. She must wait until it’s over and then comment,” the advocate says.
