  • The Soil took a seven-year break from releasing music together but they are making a comeback with their latest album Reimagined.
  • "Fresh, innovative, and highly spiritual sound," is what their fans can expect from the new album.
  • The trio aims to reaffirm their self-acclaimed title of being the best acapella group in South Africa after the departure of Buhlebendalo.

It has been a while since fans received hits from acapella group The Soil.

The trio now comprises of Ntsika Ngxanga, Luphindo 'Phindo' Ngxanga and their newest member, Theo Matshoba, after the departure of Buhlebendalo. They have released hits such as Baninzi, Inkomo and Joy but for the past seven years, they have been focused on their solo careers and releasing music individually.

“The Soil is in us, we can’t just wake up and let everything go because we are joined by our love for music and the genre we all love. I understand that our fans miss us but we also need their support on our individual albums. The Soil is not dead, just on a break,” stated former The Soil member, Buhlebendalo Mda, in a Sunday World article.

Fortunately, the wait is finally over because The Soil have just released their third studio album called Reimagined.

"This monumental comeback album promises to showcase The Soil's evolution and musical prowess, offering a fresh, innovative and highly spiritual sound that fans have been eagerly awaiting," the group describes what their audience could expect from their album.

Ntsika says, "In this extraordinary moment, as the stars align, we deeply cherish the privilege of once again being entrusted to channel this exquisite body of work. Every ounce of our passion and soul has been poured into crafting this album, a testament to the profound spiritual journey we've undergone individually and as a collective during our hiatus.

"Now, we stand at the threshold of sharing these enchanting melodies – resonant with beauty and healing – to fill the hearts and souls of all who listen, hoping these harmonies find a lasting home in the depths of everyone's being."

The trio claims to have been South Africa's finest acapella group and they believe that with this album, they will be reaffirming their position. They are even set to do a nationwide tour, where they will be bringing back their old hits, having fans singing along to their favourites hits and the new tracks released from their latest album.

They will be visiting the cities of Tshwane, Gqeberha, Gauteng and Bloemfontein from March to October 2024.

It seems like their comeback was highly anticipated, having their fans commended them on an Instagram post where they announced the release of their album. "I'm so ready!!!" commented @n.t.k_rsa "You guys never disappoint," said @hillyvanmakhoe.
