The stellar guest list at the 2024 SA Style Awards embodied glitz and glamour.
With the theme being Shades of Gold, our local stars showed up and showed off in metallics, sequins and drama.
Changing locations this year, the SA style awards rolled out the red carpet at @Sandton Hotel, transforming the lobby into star studded showcase.
The winners for this year's awards included decorated fashion stylist Bee Diamondhead, actor Senzo Radebe, singer Tyla, sports broadcaster Motshidisi Mohono, fashion designer Jacques Bam, model Ponahalo Mojapelo, Dr Musa and Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni, dancer Musa Motha and seasoned actor John Kani.
Nadia Nakai, Thembi Seete, LootLove and Young Famous and African star Swanky Jerry were some of the stars in attendance. Bonang made a grand entrance representing House of BNG as the drink sponsor for the evening.
Bonang also presented the Style Icon Award to John Kani. She said, "Among his many achievements, Dr Kani's role in the groundbreaking film Black Panther stands as a testament to his cultural significance and influence. His portrayal of King T'Chaka not only showcased his immense talent but also brought a richness and authenticity to a character that resonated with audiences all around the world."

Speaking to TRUELOVE, John Kani says, "I'm being honoured by SA Style Awards with the SA Icon [award] for the work I've done over the six decades in my life within the creative industry. When I win best actor, best playwright, I know what I've done. But when I'm honoured by people who watch my life evolve and they decide that my life means a lot and made impact and has made a difference in the lives of other people and other generations. That's when I feel proud to win this award."

Tyla won the Most Stylish Performing Artist in Music award, which was accepted by her family since she is still in the U.S. Her sister, Sydney Seethal tells us, "I'm so proud of her and here's to many more greater achievements and greater awards. I love you Ty."
Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni and Dr Musa also received their award in absentia. Honoured with the Most Stylish Couple award, the pair had made it to the venue but ultimately could not attend the ceremony due to a family emergency.
