Award-winning singer Thandiswa Mazwai, also known as King Tha, continues to use her music to shine the spotlight on issues that affect the LGBTQI community.
Speaking to TRUELOVE, the Zabalaza hitmaker says she will continue to use her music as a weapon to fight the justices that women and queer people face.

"The violence and brutal murders of women and queer folks without so much as a flinch from the justice system is an indictment on the entire 30 years of freedom.
“Freedom means nothing if we cannot feel safe in the world we live in," she says. “It's overdue for government to take violence against women and queer people seriously," she adds.
Thandiswa, whose show A Letter To Azania recently sold out at the State Theatre in Pretoria, says during her live shows she uses the opportunity to sing songs that speak to issues of the day.
"The song Funk Africa was originally dedicated to a victim of homophobic violence. Shows are important because they give us a chance to speak in the moment," she says.
The singer says that the reason she's passionate about her show A Letter To Azania is because Azania is the land and space where violence has no place.
"As a daughter of the soil, Azania was promised to me. Without Azania I can never feel free. Azania is a place of no violence," she concludes.
