Actor and filmmaker, Shona Ferguson (47), has passed away. The news of his passing have sent shockwaves through the country and were confirmed in a joint statement issued by Ferguson Films and Ferguson Foundation.
The statement revealed that he passed away from Covid-19 related complications.
"It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Mr Shona Ferguson," the statement read.
"He passed away at noon today. Mr Ferguson's untimely passing was due to Covid-19 related complications, and not a heart operation as reported in the media. We ask that you give the family time to process this painful loss, and respect their space during this time. More details will be shared in future"

The actor and producer was admitted to hospital a few weeks ago and reportedly underwent several medical procedures.
"He was at the ward for some time and he spent over a week in ICU. His condition didn't look good at all and sadly today at just past one, he died," says a source who works at the hospital who didn’t want to be named.
Shona is married to actress and television mogul Connie Ferguson and together they produced a number of hit DStv shows including Rockville, The Queen and The Throne; they also supervised the first season of The River, and Shona produced Netflix hit, Kings of Joburg.
His last post on Instagram was five days ago and it is a Bible verse; 2 Corinthians,12:9 which reads: “ He has said unto me, My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore, I will rather glory in my weakness , that the power of Christ may rest on me.”
