In the month of love, we take a look at our favourite celebrity couples that make us believe in love again.
1. Lamiez Holworthy and Khuli Chana
Superstar celeb couple Lamiez Holworthy and Khuli Chana met in 2018 and describe their relationship as a “love at first sight” and a “guy meets girl, guy falls in love and is super smitten” type of love. 2. Stephanie Sandows and Hungani Ndlovu
One of the cutest couples to grace our screens have become three with a bouncing baby girl. The former Scandal! actors welcomed their daughter Rhulani Iynana Ndlovu in August last year and kept their loyal fanbase in the loop through their YouTube channel, The Ndlovu’s Uncut, where they revealed the name and gender of their baby, calling her an “intelligent genius in the making”.
3. Toya Delazy and Alisson Chaig
UK-based Toya Delazy stole our hearts with her 2011 hit single Pump It On, captured the hearts of the world as the voice of The Powerpuff Girls’ Blisstina Utonium and represents the ultimate couple goals with wife Alisson Chaig.
Tying the knot in October 2021 after ten years together, the couple welcomed their baby girl Kali in May 2022. In an Instagram post announcing the news, Toya writes, “Universe, thank you for this gift. Alisson, I love you, thanks for being such an amazing wife, partner in crime and now, mum (milk warrior).”

4. Nandi Madida and Zakes Bantwini
A powerhouse couple loved by so many across the country, Nandi and Zakes personify a couple madly in love, with Nandi describing him as “the one” after his caring nature won her over. The couple is no stranger to the limelight in their own individual lanes, with Nandi being a multitalented singer, host and MC and Zakes officially a Grammy Award-winning artist.
Married in 2016 with two children, the couple is an example of a great South African love story we just can’t get enough of.
5. Marc Lottering and Anwar McKay
Revered Cape Town-born stand-up comedian Marc Lottering and his partner Anwar McKay’s relationship has stood the test of time. Having known each other for 13 years before getting married in January 2010, they celebrated their 13-year wedding anniversary.
The multi-award-winning comedian kept the whole country in stitches with his famous comedic characters including the much-loved Aunty Merle. Marc and his husband Anwar are an example of maintaining fun, relationship, with Marc playfully quipping “Somebody give that boy a Bells for tolerating my madness!” in a tweet on their 10th wedding anniversary in 2020.
6. Liesl Laurie and Dr Musa Mthombeni
Former Miss SA Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni and medical doctor and media personality Dr Musa Mthombeni have captured the hearts of South Africans with their new-age love story. These two aren’t shy about expressing their love and, after two years together, they’ve given us a glimpse into their lives together, reminding us that no matter how busy life gets it takes no time to appreciate the ones you love.

Having celebrated their first wedding anniversary in August 2022, the couple is the epitome of ‘love this here’.
7. DJ Zinhle and Mörda
In what has been described as “the industry’s worst-kept secret”, critically acclaimed musicians Ntombezinhle ‘DJ Zinhle’ Jiyane and Bongani ‘Mörda’ Mohasana – formally known as Murdah Bongz – tied the knot early in 2022, while only officially making their relationship public in August 2022, after the birth of their little girl in 2021.
The couple has since openly supported and encouraged one another’s projects, including the release of Mörda’s first solo album and the debut of the second season of DJ Zinhle’s reality show DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected. The superstar couple has blessed us with heart-warming relationship content enough to make anyone swoon.
8. Caster Semenya and Violet Raseboya
The beloved Olympic athlete has been an inspiration for people all over the country and the world for her incredible feats at the acclaimed Olympic games, and now Caster and her wife Violet have been a beacon of love and inspiration.
“Being in a relationship with you for 13 years gives me a peaceful existence. Your [love] is the strength that drove me to [do] everything for this family,” Violet said in a tribute she penned to Caster.

After celebrating eleven years together, actress and fashion designer Dineo Langa and her husband, award-winning hip-hop artist Solo, have proven to be just as strong as ever. Dineo recently posted a special note to Solo treating us to a small glimpse of their love for each other.

“11 years and 52 minutes (cause I’m late) since you said, ‘You should be my girlfriend soon’ [and] I agreed that that day should be the day and I haven’t looked back since. 10. Gail Mabalane and Kabelo Mabalane
Blood and Water actress Gail Mabalane and Kwaito hitmaker Kabelo Mabalane are celebrating 10 years of marriage this year, further cementing themselves as a much-loved couple winning the hearts of South Africans.
Wed in a private ceremony in February 2013, the couple share two children together and continue to celebrate one another and their union. In a heartfelt message to Gail on Instagram, Kabelo gave us all the feels.
“This love, it will inject honey into the soul of you, it will feel like warmth has cracked within your bones. And you will see how it learns you, and fights for you, and stays to weather the storms by your side”, Kabelo wrote.
