Making the announcement on his Instagram page on Monday, Mpisane said that he’d be giving R10 000 to 20 students who have recurring debt.

Here's what he wrote:

“Today marks my 20th birthday and reaching this milestone has me reflecting on my life and how blessed I have been.

As a young chairman, my focus has been on seeing my team @royalam_fc grow but we cannot neglect the difficult year we’ve had because of COVID as it has resulted with many people being left unemployed and in unfavourable financial situations. In light of the current #FeesMustFall situation and in celebration of my 20th birthday this year I would like to give back…,” he wrote before explaining how people could enter to have the money deposited into their school’s account.

Mpisane's efforts also mirror those of Lasizwe whose #R10GoesALongWay initiative has raised over half a million rand and aims to reach a total of R1 million. This money will be donated towards the fees of University students who are currently protesting against the non-registration of students due to outstanding debt.

Another celebrity who has joined the #FeesMustFall2021 fight is House DJ, Prince Kaybee, who joined the WITS protest on Monday and transported a student who was shot by police to the hospital.

Many have taken to Twitter to applaud these three for their initiatives.
