The first three months of 2024 have been quite entertaining with completely new shows making their way onto our screens. From Youngins to Red Ink, to The Mommy Club Season 2, ther is no shortage of banging new shows bringing you drama, satire, and the realities of life.
But maybe you haven't found your cup of tea and you are still on the scout for something to watch. We look at some of the shows that were recently released, and some new shows that will be released in the next few weeks and months.

Here are five shows that recently dropped or are about to drop soon.
1. Queendom
Imagine Sindi Dlathu, Linda Mtoba, Dawn Thandeka King, Jabulani 'Sjava' Hadebe, and many more South African talents in one daily drama! Well, you do not have to imagine it because that is exactly what you'll get in Queendom. A show that celebrates the power of women in society. BET Africa is still to confirm when the show will debut but it will be on DSTV channel 129.
2. Queen Modjadji
Mzansi Magic recently announced it is producing this new Sunday night prime-time drama. The historical epic is inspired by legendary rainmaker the first Queen Modjadji whose bloodline has ruled Southern Africa’s Lobedu clan for centuries. The channel is yet to announce who will be the cast members but promises to unveil new faces.
3. Tracking Thabo Bester
Everybody wants to know how Thabo Bester's case is being unpacked. From his escape from prison to his re-arrest in Tanzania, this documentary is set to give you an insight into how Thabo and his partner in crime, Dr Nandipha Magudumana attempted to defeat the South African justice system. The documentary, is planned to stream on Showmax and will be released in two parts on 15 March and 22 March 2024.
4. Heart of the Hunter
Mark the 29th of March 2024 on your calendar because Netflix is about to premier a new film, starring the likes of Bonko Khoza, Connie Ferguson and Masasa Mbangeni. The film has a political plot that showcases a man who attempts to stop a corrupt politician from being president.
5. Blood and Water Season 4
One of Mzansi's favourite youth series, Blood & Water, recently made a comeback with a fourth season. We love seeing both original and new cast members such as Ama Qamata and Masasa Mbangeni.
