THE process of music production has significantly changed in the past two decades as technology evolves.
Digital audio workstation (DAW) software allows budding and established musicians to write, record and produce their songs.
Being a music producer myself, I’ve had to learn the art of using various software to record and make beats.
I decided to share some of the best digital audio workstations which are currently being used worldwide to make music.
They are:
- Fruity Loops 20
Founded by Image-Line, FL Studio is one of the most popular software with an iconic status for established producers, particularly in genres of hip hop and electronic dance music.
I use this software because it is easy to navigate and allows you to use the software with or without guidance.
- Ableton Live
According to MusicRadar, this software is fast and allows creative workflow with excellent built-in devices.
It also comes with all kinds of effects, instruments and creative tools you require to make any kind of beat.
- Apple Logic Pro
Logic Pro comes with live loops, which are a dynamic way of creating and arranging music in real-time.
The tricky part is that it only runs on Mac but boasts advanced options that let you edit, record and manipulate electronic musical instruments.
- Steinberg Cubase
This is old music software that has been brought back to life with advanced updates.
It leads the pack with excellent plug-ins and an extensive sound library.
Cubase is regarded as great software for mixing and editing tracks.
The technological advancement from analogue to digital has changed how people listen to and work with music without a doubt.
With that said, I suggest you pick software that best meets the specification of your computer hardware and performance.
