accreditation

A 32-YEAR-OLD son was caught red-handed chopping his mum into pieces and putting them in a plastic bag.

The man was caught by his father who then demanded to know what was happening. But instead of getting answers, the dad, who’s the husband to the dead woman, was stabbed on the chest allegedly by his son who is now on the run.

Police spokesman Captain Phumelelo Dhlamini said: “On Tuesday, 7 June at about 9am, the police responded to a murder scene and found human body parts that had been cut into pieces inside a garage in Riverside, Free State.

“The female deceased was identified by a family member as Modiehi Mokoena, aged 65. It’s alleged that the husband of the dead woman, Motsumi Mokoena, arrived home and found his son inside the garage packing the remains of his mother inside the plastic bag. When his father tried to enquire about what was happening, the son took out a knife and stabbed him on the chest and as a result he’s admitted to hospital with serious stab wounds.”

Dhlamini said the suspect is 1,5m tall, with natural hair, has no beard and is slender. He was last seen wearing a striped T-shirt and black jeans.

“Cases of murder and attempted murder were opened and are being investigated. Anyone who has information about the suspect’s whereabouts should call Lieutenant-Colonel Japhta Milela on 079 889 3311 or CrimeStop on 08600 10111,” said Dhlamini.
