Over the last 18 months or so, Covid has destroyed so many different parts of life that it is almost impossible to remember what it was like before the initial outbreak. Having been in strict lockdowns for the majority of these months, the biggest tragedy to the sport we all love is the fact that fans weren’t allowed into stadiums due to safety concerns.
Now, almost 2 years since the virus started, more than half the population has been vaccinated, and other sports such as cricket and rugby have started to allow fans back into stadiums to watch live matches. Questions surround the return of fans to football stadiums and when the PSL will allow fans for live games.
With the Soweto Derby right around the corner, a salivating fixture is on the cards, however, on the latest episode of the Fan Reaction Show, Mzansi football supporters expressed frustration about not being able to attend. One fan even said, “The derby will be boring without fans watching live.” The fans are the 12th man and are itching to get behind their beloved teams to show support.
On the show, fans have their say about still not being able to attend live matches and expressed frustration towards the PSL. The future of Orlando Pirates striker Gabadinho Mhango is debated whether or not the Malawian should stay with the Buccaneers.
