Orlando Pirates could miss out on their target from Kenya, with the latest information being that he might be closing in on an overseas move.
It was previously reported by the Siya crew that Pirates have had their sights set on Kenyan striker Benson Omala as part of coach Jose Riveiro's plans for the 2023/24 season.

Despite appearing to have their squad finalised for competing in the domestic competitions and CAF Champions League, the Buccaneers are understood to be open to reinforcing with one or two more players, if need be, before the transfer window deadline on September 22.
Omala, who finished on 26 goals for Kenyan club Gor Mahia last season, is believed to be keen on a move to Bucs although he is said to have attracted interest from Denmark as well.
“Pirates have been interested in Benson Omala who has been scoring goals in the Kenyan Premier League for Gor Mahia. But the issue with Pirates has to do with their foreign quota and only if they can make tweaks to the current squad can they add more foreign players from what I understand,” said the source.

“There is a possibility that the player might go to Denmark as there is so much interest in him from one of the clubs there. The player’s handlers will be using the FIFA international break to possibly finalise a move,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Pirates confirmed that their match against Mamelodi Sundowns has been moved to September 20 as opposed to September 19, which is the date it was initially planned for.
