The Siya crew has been led to believe that Orlando Pirates have prepared a one-year deal for Andile Jali, with the midfielder keen to rejoin the Soweto giants. The veteran campaigner is currently a free agent after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns recently and there has been interest in his services from the likes of AmaZulu FC and Stellenbosch FC.
It’s understood that the Buccaneers have prepared a one-year contract for the Matatiele-born star, with an option to extend for another season. Jali didn’t spend the last three months of the season at the Brazilians after reports revealed that he allegedly arrived at training under the influence of alcohol, but indications are that the player is determined to bounce back and make a big contribution, with Pirates favourites to bring him back on board.
The Houghton-born side are trying to bolster their squad for the CAF Champions League next season and Jali is one of the players they want to recruit to take on the tough journey that comes with playing both domestically and on the continent. He was, after all, part of the squad that reached the final of the competition back in 2013, although missed the crucial second leg due to suspension as Al Ahly claimed a 2-0 victory to win 3-1 on aggregate.
