The Malawi national team, the Flames are doing well at the ongoing COSAFA Cup so far.

The Flames have won both of their games and their performances have not gone unnoticed as PSL clubs are looking at their players to see who has the potential to excel in the South African topflight.

One player who has performed very well is winger Lanjesi Nkhoma who has supposedly attracted interest from a top DStv Premiership side.

A source close to the player has indicated to the Siya crew that Kaizer Chiefs are probably the team who have enquired about the 21-year-old Nyasa Big Bullets player.

The source added that Amakhosi, through their scouts, have watched both Malawi games and are impressed with the player.

"For now, it's just an enquiry. They have asked about him with the intention of knowing him more," said the Siya source.

"And they can  then maybe bring him on for trials or something like that. He is still young and has room to grow and improve. But so far, what they have seen from him has impressed them hence they have enquired about him," the source said.

When reached for comment, the Malawi national team interim head coach Patrick Mabedi, who is a former Chiefs captain, could neither deny nor confirm interest in the player.

"We have many good players in the team and there are many scouts around asking about our players. It will be a blessing for any team that could get a player from this bunch of players," Mabedi told the Siya crew.
