After announcing that they will release 11 players ahead of the new season, AmaZulu FC are believed to be looking to bolster their squad.

Siya sources inside the club have indicated that Usuthu could sign an eSwatini international midfielder. The source has stated the team is probably interested in former Polokwane City midfielder Banele "Pupu" Sikhondze who is currently on the books of Mbabane Swallows.

"Apparently some of the team officials were in eSwatini where they went to look at the player and talk to his team," said the Siya source.

"The good thing about him is that he has the experience. He has played for Polokwane City and Mbombela United. He knows what the South African football scenario demands.

"AmaZulu are looking at having a formidable team going into the new season and beyond. And if you look at Pupu, he can help with that mission. It will now just depend on what lies ahead in terms of negotiations and other things for him to move to Durban," the source said.

When contacted for comment, Mbabane Swallows General Manager Sandile Zwane could neither confirm nor deny the reports.

"There are many teams interested in our players and we are happy that we always produce players of international standard. We are looking forward to exporting more players not just to South Africa but even Europe and Asia," Zwane concluded.
